The Seattle Port Commission is reviewing the delegation of authority to the Port CEO, as encompassed in Resolution 3181, with the intent of strengthening Commission oversight of Port operations. Proposed changes will be in two important areas:
The Port is seeking public comment during the 30-day period from May 13th to June 11th. The public comment period has been extended to June 30th.

In December 2007, the Washington State Auditor's Office released results of a performance audit on the Port of Seattle's capital program, identifying 51 recommendations. In response, the Port has defined numerous action steps and is committed to making improvements to its processes. Reports are published approximately every two weeks, corresponding to regular Commission meeting days. Please check back often to track our progress.

A draft resolution 3605, on the roles and responsibilities of the Port of Seattle Commission and administrative authority of the CEO, prepared by the Subcommittee, was presented August 5 to the full Commission for consideration.
The first reading of the resolution is slated for August 12th, with second reading on August 26th followed by adoption of the final resolution.
Recommendations 5 and 34, related to the enforcement of construction schedules, were completed when review and analyses of other agencies’ practices were finished and the recommendations implemented.
Improvements to Small Works Contracting, Recommendations 8, 9, 20, 21, 23 & 24, included completion of Recommendations 8, 9, and 24. Additional improvements and enhancements to the Small Works Roster have been identified for Recommendations 20, 21, & 23. The revised scope of work for these recommendations will be defined by August 31st.
